Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship Award Winners

IBCAT has been honored to award over $34,000 to graduating High School seniors since 2009.  These students have been affected by breast cancer through either losing a parent to the disease or by having a parent currently undergoing active breast cancer treatment at the time of application.

In 2012, the Board of Directors approved the Continuation Scholarship program for previous Nancy Jaynes Memorial Scholarship Award recipients.  Since then, an additional $33,000 has been awarded for continuation scholarships.

2018

Sam Yeager, Warsaw Community High School, Warsaw, will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to attend Taylor University.

Caleb Skelton, Boonville High School in Boonville, received a $1,000.00 scholarship and will attend Indiana University.

Grace Baer, Pendleton Heights High School, Pendleton, received a $1,000.00 scholarship and will attend Purdue University.

Lucy Harbaugh, Terre Haute South High School, Terre Haute; Julia Baker, Eastside Jr./Sr. High School, Butler; and, Taylor Teel, Pioneer Jr./Sr. High School, Royal Center each received $750.00 scholarships.

2017

Grant Pullen, Zionville Community High School, Zionville, Indiana – Grant received a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to attend Butler University.

Emily Terry, Eastern Greene School, Solsberry, Indiana received a $1,000.00 scholarship and will attend University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.

Amy Olson, North Putnam High School, Roachdale, Joseph Sell, Logansport Community High School, Logansport, and Collier Smith,  North Harrison High School, each received $750.00 scholarships.

2016

Rachel Goedee, Mater Dei High School, Evansville, Indiana – Rachel will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to attend Purdue University with the career goal of being a pharmacist.

Gavin Roswarski of Faith Christian School in Lafayette, Indiana received a $1,000.00 scholarship and will attend Grace College majoring in actuarial Science

Kinsey Bromm, Jasper High School, Jasper, Indiana and Kenzie McAfee, Benton Central Jr./Sr. High School, Oxford, Indiana each received $750.00 scholarships.  Kinsey will attend Indiana University while Kenzie plans to attend Purdue University.

Zachary Hillestad, Hebron High School, Hebron, Indiana and Jessica Custer, Lakewood Park Christian School, Auburn, Indiana both received $500.00 scholarships.  Zachary plans to attend Ivy Tech.  Jessica will attend Ball State University.

2015

Jenna Olson, North Putnam High School, Roachdale, Indiana
Jenna will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to major in psychology and education at Purdue University.

Mariah Brown, Edinburgh Community High School, Edinburgh, Indiana and Jake Tragesser, Tipton High School, Tipton, Indiana

Both Mariah and Jake will receive $1,000.00 scholarships.  Mariah plans to pursue a career in nursing and will be studying at University of Indianapolis.  Jake will be studying mechanical engineering at IUPUI.

2014

Zachary Goedde, Mater Dei High School, Evansville, Indiana
Zach will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to major in engineering at Purdue University.

Adam Grannon, Tecumseh High School, Lynnville, Indiana
Adam plans to major in exercise science with a career goal of being a physical therapist.  He is awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship.

2013

Kaleigh deWolfe, Castle High School, Newburgh, Indiana
Kaleigh will receive a $1,500.00 scholarship and plans to major in history.  Her career goal is to be an educator.

Hannah Franklin, Randolph South High School, Lynn, Indiana
Hannah plans to major in Biology with a career goal of being a physical therapist.  She is awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship.

2012

Lucas Goedde, Mater Dei High School, Evansville, Indiana
Lucas will receive a $1,500.00 award and plans to pursue a career in engineering by furthering his education at Purdue University.

Christina Johnson, North Harrison High School, Ramsey, Indiana
Christina will study pre-medicine at the University of Southern Indiana.  She was awarded a $1,000.00 scholarship.

Diane Choi, Lawrence North High School, Indianapolis, Indiana
Diane plans to attend the University of Notre Dame.  Her career goal is to become a physician.  Diane received a $500.00 award.

2011

Chelsea Mattingly, Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, Indiana
Chelsea will receive a $1,000 award and plans to pursue a career in nursing by furthering her education at Purdue University.

Emily Martin, Boonville High School, Boonville, Indiana
With plans to become an oncologist, Emily will study pre-medicine at the University of Southern Indiana.  She was awarded a $500.00 scholarship.

Hannah Rodimel, Washington High School, Washington, Indiana
Hannah also plans to attend the University of Southern Indiana.  Her career goal is to teach Social Studies and English.  Hannah received a $500.00 award.

2010

Matthew J. BrozovicMunster High School, Munster, Indiana
Matt’s plans to attend Indiana University – Bloomington Campus in the Fall of 2010 majoring in Finance and pursue a career in Investment Banking.

Rachel M. GeigerNorth Central High School, Indianapolis, Indiana
Rachel plans to attend Indiana University with a major in Philosophy. Rachel is undecided on her career.

2009

Mackenzie KlaesSeymour High School, Seymour, Indiana
Mackenzie’s plans to attend the University of Indianapolis with a major in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science. At the time of the award, Mackenzie’s career goal is to become a national news correspondent specializing in politics.

Tisha KylerWhitko High School, South Whitley, Indiana
Tisha’s plans to attend Indiana State University in Terre Haute with a major in Business Administration. She hopes to use her musical talents in the field of business.
