Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County is a health care clinic for low-income, uninsured residents of Monroe and Owen counties.  This project seeks to increase access to screening digital mammograms for 96 Volunteers in Medicine patients in our service area.  Specifically, Volunteers in Medicine will provide clinical breast exams and education to patients and provide referral and financial resources to pay for screening digital mammograms for uninsured individuals falling at or below 200% of poverty.  This project will remove the financial barrier for seeking a mammogram, thereby increasing access to this life-saving screening procedure.
